Pirelli Internship Opportunity at Pirelli Moto R&D Racing Department

Pirelli's Business Unit Moto in Pillars:

From 2004, Pirelli is the Official Tyre Supplier for all classes of the FIM Superbike World Championship. The partnership has been extended by a further three years during 2023 season, and the agreement will be valid at least up to and including the 2026 season.

The partnership between Pirelli and the promoters of the FIM Superbike World Championship has celebrated its first 20 years in 2023 and it is a highlight of the constantly improving quality, reliability, and performance of Pirelli tyres in the Championship.

During the last 20 years of racing, Pirelli has embraced the values and the philosophy of the FIM Superbike World Championship by bringing to the racetrack products that are available to any motorcyclist at a worldwide level, reflecting the Company’s motto We sell what we race, we race what we sell.

Since 2004, Pirelli has supplied the Championship normal production tyres that can be purchased by anyone on the market by applying the Championship’s production-derived philosophy also to the tyres. The only real difference, of course, is that road tyres have feature treaded profiles rather than fully slick contact patches.

Pirelli’s single-tyre formula has allowed all the riders and Teams to compete for victory over the last 20 years, as the Company is supplying equal tyres for all. The role of Pirelli on the FIM Superbike World Championship is not only as a technical partner, but it is also a sponsor and a marketing partner.

The Company will become the Exclusive Tyre Supplier to the Moto2™ and Moto3™ classes of the MotoGP™ from 2024 to 2026 seasons. This three-year agreement will see the Company become an integral part of the lightweight and intermediate classes on MotoGP™ by supplying DIABLO™ Superbike slick tyres to both the aforesaid 2 classes. These tyres are of the same kind currently used inside the WorldSBK scene. This partnership is an important driver for the future enhancement of the Pirelli brand in terms of both commercial growth and technological development, as MotoGP™ classes offers a top racing laboratory on two wheels, ensuring the sport continues to drive innovation in safety, performance, and sustainability that reaches all the customers on the streets.

Pirelli Moto’s racing activities are not limited to the track, but also to off-road races. Pirelli is one of the Official Tyre Suppliers of the FIM Motocross World Championship and in 2023 the

Company has celebrated its 81 world titles, thanks to this season champions Jorge Prado Garcia in MXGP and Andrea Adamo in MX2. Both riders won their titles at the end of the penultimate

round of the 2023 World Championship, thanks also to the performance of the SCORPION™

MX32™ range, which covers all kind of grounds.
