Round 4 of the F1 Academy season took place last weekend, as part of the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix support package. Pin took her third win of the season in Race 1, Felbermayr took her first F1 Academy win in Race 2 and Race 3 was won by Chambers.
Round 4 of the 2025 F1 Academy season saw the 2025 drivers take to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve for the first time, with German driver Mathilda Paatz joining as the wild card.
Doriane Pin, Ella Lloyd, Chloe Chambers and Nina Gademan were stand-out performers of the race weekend.
During the weekend, it was announced that F1 Academy will continue to race at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve until 2028, inclusive, following a three-year extension to the existing agreement. The series also unveiled a multi-year partnership with the Wella Company, naming Wella Professionals as an official partner, as well as a multi-year partnership with Gatorade.

Chloe Chambers fastest in Montreal qualifying
In a very exciting qualifying session, Chambers set the fastest lap time with a 1m 38.125 second lap time in the final minutes of the session to seal her third consecutive pole position of the season.
Palmowski made it a 1-2 for Campos Racing and Pin finished in third, four tenths back.
Chambers set an early benchmark with a lap time of 1m 45.283, but was beaten by a 1m 40.910 lap time from Alba Larsen after the initial laps.
The track continued to ramp up with Lia Block, Ella Lloyd and Alisha Palmowski all taking turns at the top of the timesheet. During the last part of the session, it was a straight-up battle between teammates Chambers and Palmowski, with both trading off the top spot with every lap, but Chambers came out on top.
Maya Weug had an unfortunate practice session following an electrical issue with her car; she was looking for redemption in qualifying but only managed P15 in a disastrous qualifying session for the Ferrari driver.
Lloyd and Hausmann qualified fourth and fifth, with Felbermayr and Gademan in sixth and seventh, Chong in eighth, Ferreira in ninth and Lia Block qualified in 10th.

Pin takes her third victory of the F1 Academy season in Race 1
Doriane Pin’s season is turning around after a win in Race 1 in Miami; she took her third victory in six races in Race 1 in Montreal.
Pin got an early advantage in the Race 1 when Chambers and Palmowski made contact at the start of the race, allowing Pin to take the lead and hold onto it at the safety car restart. Ella also capitalised on the chaos, going from P7 to P2.
Weug’s weekend went from bad to worse after the Ferrari driver pitted multiple times as the issues continued with car number 64.
Chambers and Palmowski collided, with Palmowski spinning and Chambers braking her front wing, which ultimately detached and she was shown the Black and Orange Flag before entering the pits.
Palmowski managed to claw her way back into the top ten after overtaking Chong with a lunge up inside the hairpin at the last moment. Chong fought back but missed the final corner and had to give the space back to Palmowski, just before the safety car, with Palmowski finishing in eighth place.
Lloyd managed to fend off an attack from Felbermayr at the safety car restart and finished in second and third, rounding out the podium. Nina Gademan finished fourth.
After the race, Felbermayr was disqualified after her car was found to be consistently below the required weight limit. Palmowski was also given a ten-second time penalty for causing a collision with Chambers and Ferreira was handed a five-place grid penalty for the next race she competed in. This promoted Gademan into third place and demoted Palmowski from P9 to P12.

Felbermayr seals redemption with last-lap victory in Race 2
Emma Felbermayr sealed her maiden F1 Academy race win in Montreal’s Race 2 after a frenetic final lap sprint to the chequered flag.
Reverse grid polesitter Chloe Chong had a good race start, with Gademan staying closely behind in second place. Felbermayr, Lloyd and Hausmann went three wide at the race start, with Lloyd managing to move into third place.
Chong left the door wide open for Gademan, Lloyd and Felbermayr to all get past a few corners later. Felbermayr passed Lloyd a few laps later, moving into P2. Felbermayr moved to within eight-tenths of Gademan in front, until contact between Havrda and Anagnostiadis brought out the safety car on lap 14.
With one racing lap left, it was a sprint to the flag, with Gademan getting a good start out in front and Felbermayr staying with her. Felbermayr then drove to the inside of Gademan to take the lead at Turn 9, with Lloyd following her through. Felbermayr held the lead until the end, securing an all-rookie podium alongside Lloyd and Gademan.

Chambers takes birthday victory in Race 3
After taking pole earlier in the weekend, Chambers started Race 3 from pole position and held on to the chequered flag. Fighting off two safety car restarts and a tough fight from Lloyd and Palmowski.
Lining up beside her teammate, Chambers held firm off the starting line. Behind her, Palmowski and Lloyd touched and sent Palmowski spinning, with Pin narrowly avoiding getting caught up in the contact, but she picked up some front wing damage.
Further behind, contact between wild card entrant Paatz and Anagnostiadis brought out the first safety car of the race by the end of the opening lap. Chambers had a great restart and put a lot of distance between herself and Lloyd.
A second safety car was brought out on Lap 10, after Lia Block misjudged her braking into Turn 8 and hit both Ferreira and Nobels in the process. Chambers pulled off another great safety car restart on Lap 13, with Lloyd staying close behind her.
The safety car was brought out for a third time on Lap 14, after Crone and Felbermayr made contact and the race finished under safety car conditions.
Chambers took the top step of the podium with Lloyd taking her third second-place finish of the weekend and Race 1 winner Pin rounded out the top three.

F1 Academy has a new championship leader
After Miami, Maya Weug was leading the championship by just one single point; this weekend, however, Weug’s championship lead came to a dramatic end. Plagued by engine issues throughout practice, qualifying and the first two races, Weug was only able to show her real pace in Race 3, by overtaking nine cars in just five racing laps. However, it wasn’t enough for her to maintain the championship lead, and she slipped into third place behind Pin and Chambers, who both secured a race win this weekend.
The new championship leader, Pin, now has a lead of just 20 points. Chambers is currently in second place in the standings, but after the Montreal race weekend, she remains optimistic about her championship fight.
“Doriane’s got quite a points lead currently,” Chambers said to the media after Race 3. “20 points is totally doable. I would like to be closer to Doriane in the Standings and I know it'll be a tough fight to the end.
“When you think about it in the grand scheme of things, that's one good race weekend and one poor race weekend for her away from taking the lead in the Standings. There are still three race weekends left in the year, so plenty of opportunities to do it.”
