Here at Females in Motorsport, our mission is to highlight all of the incredible women in motorsport, including the incredible work of transgender women in our industry. Prismatic Motorsports is a transgender and non-binary sim racing team currently competing on iRacing in the European Sportscar Championship, British F4 Esports Championship, and in multiple endurance events – and this is their story.
Where did Prismatic Motorsports begin?
Back in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Prismatic Motorsports Team Principal and Co-owner Jamie Jessica Martin discovered sim racing. Immediately drawn in by how much fun she saw racers having, Martin purchased a sim racing wheel and pedal set, eventually building a PC capable of running iRacing. She dove into the r/Transgamers subreddit on popular online community platform Reddit. Through this subreddit, Martin met multiple other transgender and non-binary sim racers, forming a tight-knit group that would eventually become Prismatic Motorsports in 2021.
The team took their first step when they attempted to organise a 24-hour race in iRacing that would raise money for Mermaids UK, a charity focused around supporting and protecting transgender, non-binary, and gender-questioning youth (and their caretakers) in the UK. While Prismatic’s attempted event ultimately failed, the team still pushed forward and held multiple racing events to raise money for the charity. Realising that they had the abilities to utilise this unique opportunity, the team was founded on three core purposes: provide, elevate, and advocate.

Who’s behind Prismatic Motorsports?
There is a whole army behind Prismatic Motorsports, starting with Jamie Jessica Martin, Team Principal and one of the original founders. Martin was born and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom. She studied a BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Engineering at Bedford College. Like many, she was drawn to motorsport in 2004 as she witnessed Michael Schumacher’s incredible dominance with the Scuderia Ferrari F1 Team.
Roxie Gibson is the Technical Director and Team Manager for Prismatic. She grew up in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. Her journey in motorsports, specifically esports, started with video games such as Gran Turismo 3 and Forza Motorsport. She fell in love with motorsport, specifically Formula 1, during the chaos of the 2020 season.
Georgie Mackay is the Business Development Director for Prismatic. They grew up in Whitehaven, Cumbria, and attended Stirling University as a PhD Candidate in Religion and Gender! They were highly active in their university community, serving on multiple student boards and sports teams.
Bree/Brett Widner is the Creative Director at Prismatic. They grew up in Chatan-chō, Japan, and raced in motocross as a child, which is what brought them into the world of motorsport, and what sparked their desire to compete in the sport. Their sim racing journey began with games such as Gran Turismo and Tokyo Extreme Racer, but exploded with WRC 8 in 2019.
Fighting Stigmas
“With an organisation such as ours being for a specific minority, we often get questioned about our need to exist. For some, it's a surprising revelation of the challenges we face as transgender and non-binary individuals. For others, it isn’t as kind,” Martin tells Females in Motorsport.
It is no secret that – even in the face of continued steps forward – transgender individuals still live in a dangerous world. Prismatic Motorsports exists to provide a safe space for transgender and non-binary individuals worldwide. A place where there are no restrictions on the basis of gender identity. By existing and competing at high levels, Prismatic proves that there is certainly space for transgender individuals in motorsport, and that that space holds incredible talent.

Martin emphasises that Prismatic Motorsports is not the first attempt at building a trans-safe space and team in iRacing, but is proud to have been the first team that stuck around in the way Prismatic has. Prismatic Motorsports has welcomed individuals from many other organisations, communities, and other spaces. Unity is a significant part of helping create safe spaces for trans individuals, and creating more safe spaces allows more chances to see incredible humans thrive both personally and professionally in more areas than just motorsport.
“Our Prismatic community is a cornerstone of everything we do, and if it helps a single person be themselves, we have done our jobs,” Martin says. “Personally, when I am invited to places to talk about what we do, whether it is in the virtual or the physical space, my being a transwoman never seems to be a part of my concerns. When telling our story to peers, they listen and take an interest.
“Roadblocks do still exist, that is for certain, but when it comes to our industry in the year 2025, we do have an interesting story to tell and an opportunity for them to be interested in.”
Martin notes that when compared to other endeavors in the online sphere, she has noticed their acceptance into motorsports has been much simpler. Motorsport is an industry heavily reliant on connections and community – Cammie Sturch was this connection for Martin and Prismatic, introducing them to the fantastic team at Racing Pride.
Currently, Prismatic faces one intimidating, but not uncommon, challenge – finding sponsors and partners. As the world becomes increasingly hostile towards transgender individuals, especially transgender women, businesses are taking steps back from supporting LGBTQIA+ or LGBTQIA+ affiliated organisations as a whole, and Prismatic Motorsports hasn’t been spared from this. However, in the face of this challenge, Martin emphasises the incredible board behind Prismatic who put forth incredible efforts, both time-wise and funding-wise, to help keep Prismatic going. She also highlights their existing partners – N2N Motorsports, Sim Hound, Agent Ink, Motion Podcast, Go for the Gap Co., and Kadan Computers – who continue to show incredibly meaningful support and allow the team to keep taking steps forward for the team and the entire transgender community.
Highlights as a Team
While Prismatic Motorsports is still a young team in the grand scheme of things, they’ve still had countless incredible moments throughout their history so far:
As a regular competitor in the British F4 Esports Championship, Prismatic has raced against teams like Scuderia Ferrari HP Esports Team, Aston Martin Aramco Esports Team, Williams Esports, G2 Esports, Alpine Sim Racing, and more
Prismatic is the only team to finish with double points in all races during the 2024 British F4 Esports Championship
In 2023, Saoirse Fitzpatrick (Prismatic Motorsports Driver and current Official Roster Supervisor) won Screen to Speed Las Vegas, getting to test drive a Porsche Cup Car and winning $15,000. Prismatic Motorsports drivers Emily Howe and Kristina Ryan also finished P2 and P4, respectively
Driver Olivia Hayward has become a formidable force in the top levels of the IndyCar ladder, and has been invited to two VCO IndyCar Challenge races and one qualifying
Prismatic Motorsports became an officially listed organisation on the Motorsport UK Inclusion Hub in early 2025

Most important, however, is Prismatic Motorsport’s continued efforts to raise money for the LGBTQIA+ community. Since last year, they have hosted a yearly charity race called “Race for a Cause 24”. Noticing a lack of a Le Mans official iRacing race, Prismatic took advantage of the opportunity to create one to raise funds and donate to some incredible causes. This year, the race raised €6,199 for Belong To, an Irish charity centred around advocating for LGBTQIA+ youth. In 2024, they raised $1,753 for Rainbow Railroad, a North America-based organisation whose goal is to help at-risk LGBTQIA+ individuals around the world get to safe spaces.
As transgender individuals across the globe continue to face mounting aggression, it is critical to support organisations such as Prismatic Motorsports as they continue to do incredible work protecting, supporting, and uplifting the entire LGBTQIA+ community.
