From development series to endurance racing, rally raids, and even global motorbike championships, female drivers are competing at the top levels and proving that motorsport has no gender.
Here’s your essential guide to the major championships where women are taking on the world — and where you can continue to watch them in action throughout the rest of the 2025 season.
F1 Academy
Now in its third season, this all-female single-seater championship was launched in 2023 by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile and series’ managing director Susie Wolff, with a mission to equip young women with real racing experience and a platform to showcase their talent to the world.

Featuring 18 drivers across six experienced teams, such as Prema Racing, Rodin Motorsport and Campos Racing, this series offers an affordable stage where young talent gains vital experience. Not only is the championship backed by all 10 F1 teams, but established brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Tommy Hilfiger have also joined the grid. Races take place on high-profile circuits, alongside Formula 1 weekends.
With French driver Doriane Pin currently leading the standings ahead of Chloe Chambers, Zandvoort promises more to provide more thrilling wheel-to-wheel action.
Next race: Zandvoort (August 29 - 31)
Previous champions: Marta Garcia (2023) and Abbi Pulling (2024)

Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA)
Where raw talent meets iconic tracks, FRECA bridges the gap between Formula 4 and Formula 3 on the path to the pinnacle of motor racing. Featuring F3-level safety standards and high-performance cars, this series runs exclusively on F1-grade tracks across Europe - think Spa, Paul Ricard and the Red Bull Ring to name just a few.

If you want to witness the intensity of close racing, this is the series to watch. Former F1 Academy champion, Marta Garcia, joined the FRECA grid for the 2024 season after securing a fully funded seat. This year, two female drivers have featured on the grid - Maya Weug and Doriane Pin. Although Maya completed only one round, Doriane continues to gain experience in one of the most competitive junior categories on the ladder.
Next race: Imola (August 1 - 3)

IMSA Endurance Cup
Endurance racing is a demonstration of teamwork, strategy and speed. This is evident in IMSA, where driver stamina is tested in races that run deep into the night through hours of constant pressure. Here, female drivers are going up head-to-head with the best in the GTD and LMP classes.

The Iron Dames — Michelle Gatting, Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy, and Karen Gaillard continue to make waves. Meanwhile, Tatiana Calderón (Gradient Racing) and Lilou Wadoux (AF Corse) are racing in top teams and categories, bringing diverse female representation to this global championship. At Road America, expect high drama, pit stop precision and pure racing grit.

FIA World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC)
From the deserts of Saudi Arabia to the plains of Portugal, the W2RC is the ultimate off-road test of endurance and navigation. The 2025 season has already travelled the globe, and the September rally will see drivers tackle over 1,000 kilometres of varied terrain.

Look out for Cristina Gutiérrez in the Ultimate class, Puck Klaassen and Dania Akeel in Challenger, and Sara Price in SSV — all competing across dunes, rivers and unforgiving rocky tracks in one of the toughest forms of motorsport
Next race: BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal (September 22)
FIM World Women’s Circuit Racing Championship (WorldWCR)
Motorcycling’s top women have their own global stage — and it’s packed with full-throttle, elbow-to-elbow action. WorldWCR debuted last year and has already become one of the most exciting series in two-wheeled motorsport.

Running alongside WorldSBK weekends, this series offers huge exposure, elite-level racing, and a thrilling title fight. The top three — Maria Herrera, Beatriz Neila, and Sara Sánchez — are locked in a fierce Spanish showdown heading into Hungary. And the best part? You can watch it all live and free on YouTube.
Previous champion: Ana Carrasco won the inaugural season of WorldWCR in 2024 after being the only rider to score a podium in every round.
Next race: Hungarian Round, Balaton Park (July 25–27)
